Kart looks great.....to me and others. Show that same picture to a 11 year old, next to a 2014 EVK with chrome sticker set and all the trimmings. I think you will find a familiar answer.
That's not being harsh its just the way youngsters are!
Regarding your statements about contact ect. I think its a bit different with the historics. These are 99% owned and raced by the older generation who have painstakingly put it together over a long period and is they're pride and joy. The enjoyment appears to come from actually driving it rather than working your bottom off to move up through the grid. I would hazard a guess that the competitiveness to win is not quite the same as at a national championship.
Good to see there are places to race these though.
My view, for what its worth; You can't just take the plastics away. Accidental damage is always likely. Not all crashes are deliberate. Side pods and nose cones are important for protection.
Its been said over and over again. The COC's every month preach that its non contact, blah, blah, blah.......Why don't they actually do something about it?! People break rules because the gain outweighs the loss. Make the loss greater, simple.
