Chris beat me to it, but:
Forms of remuneration? Dont be ridiculous. Theres no money to be made in this game, apart from perhaps at the top level certainly not in IKR. Surely you know that better than most? Furthermore, while Im not involved in any of the organising (I have been in the past), I know some of those who are and am very confident that they are giving their time and effort simply out of passion for the sport; nothing more, nothing less.
By all means defend MSA-governed karting; but to the point where you choose to be blind to any reasons why there is such a decline?
IKR serves a market that the MSA (or the ABkC, whichever body it actually is) has chosen to abandon, or at least not to be involved in. You enjoy your MSA racing; well enjoy our IKR, the essence of which is just to have some fun at the odd weekend in whatever kit we have and to bring that kit and ourselves home in one piece. Absolutely no tolerance ever of any deliberate contact; thats the way we like it. Time will tell which people prefer. Happily its now a free market where customers decide.
Why would there ever be "a point at which IKR drivers should be pointed at the MSA National B events"? We can easily do multi-track right now not everyone cares about national championship points.
The inference of a hidden agenda really does indicate that your conspiracy sensors are working far too hard.
Furthermore, once MSA racers have moved over to IKR, the MSA is most unlikely ever to get them back (if it even wants to, which it probably doesnt anyway).
For what its worth, Ill give my personal reasons - which have nothing to do with cost/budget in my case:
- I want no tolerance of deliberate contact and want a culture in which all drivers share this view (I find all the recent discussion on both forums about how that is impossible sadly amusing) - Im a reasonably experienced club-level racer: why would I agree to being treated like a baby with an ARKS test and novice plates? - I have no higher racing ambitions than club level; Ron Dennis isnt looking for me and never was
