not fully thought through, but you need a way of limiting the number of bumpers a driver can have without having to answer as to i.e why they have trashed 3 bumpers in 2 race meets! The more you race the greater the risk of damage but there should be a way. Perhaps clubs could start collecting info - when the drivers come in from a heat with a flattened bumper it should be noted. If someone races regularly at the club it will some become apparent if It is every month there may be an issue and the driver can be asked to explain and watched closely. Clubs could share info with MSA so boys who race at different clubs and regularly squash their bumpers can be watched.
