problem was it's not a matter of racing line (on this occasion) as they were in the 1st 3rd of a long straight and had plenty of time to get past before any racing lines came in to play.
Although I guess there is a line on the straight (or my lad would have gone the other side) in this particular case it had no bearing, just the officials trying to enfore the new rulings (which is fair enough).
As for kart beside makes no difference, what happens then when a block pass is carried out, kart goes up the inside, takes away the line through the corner (no contact etc)?
Having said this I can see what you are saying and yes you can't have karts flying about all over the track off the line but in a straight line, when overtaking a kart in front and start the move goign straight down the line (on track) then the leading kart starts to pull across on him I do think that it shoudl be noted that teh other kart veered off of the racing line to stop a pass......
All this aside, hoepfully at some point there will be some consistency from the officials (who have a very difficult job).
On that note, (not that it's a regular stopping off place for us) but when we have been into see the CofC I think that they do try to be consistent with their dealing of issues, IMHO it's the 'on track' officials who could improve (not a criticism just an observation).
