I was going to be the first one to answer this but decided to wait until the 50th post but knew I'd be in for the long wait when only three replied.
Is that because people are so unsure of the rules?
Well I bet they're not alone.
I thought the blue flag was only advisory in karting and you should hold your line and leave it up to the overtaking kart to get past safely, F1 being different.
If you're on the same lap, why should you allow following karts through by slowing, you're still on the same racing lap, not being lapped, you are racing both grids, regardless of a split grid.
Multiple grids works ok in cars, so it should work in karts.
The idea of 'tapping' breaks the 'non contact sport' rule.
If you've managed to catch the front grid, then surely you should be good enough to pass safely.
I'll go for three straight A's as an answer: A, a, a, with c & d from the last paragraph a likely addition.
