I'm assuming the time when my rear wheel made it from the chicane at Clay back to scrutineering in a couple of seconds counts as one of your stats...!
The studs didn't shear and I don't think it was down to a loose nut - the studs had completely pulled out of each hole in the hub, leaving three holes with not much in the way of threads in them. On this occasion the wheels hadn't been off the kart since the evening before but I had checked for tightness before each time I went out. To what torque I don't know, but I think I'd turned them just hard enough to turn the nut against the rim and actually turn the entire stud inside the hub slightly. This probably weakened the threads and it looks like they all eventually came away like helicoils, so in that case checking torque could've definitely helped.
