�end of the day all we want to see is these guys in 24 identical ff1600's (you can overtake with those) drawn out of a hat and race without pit stops at a great track such as brands/spa/brazil. THEN we would see who's best. now that might draw some interest back from spectators shunning f1 in their droves.bernie?�
That isn�t what f1 is about though. And how would it attract money to the same extent?
F1 was/is an exercise in engineering the best solution to a given set of �rules�.
Paying good drivers to give an advantage detracts from the technical part.
F1 needs to be viewed as a team �sport� with the drivers� championship firmly secondary.
A true drivers� championship can only ever have a single make/engine but where is the interest going to come from?
Money brings interest and hence more money. The old days of race on Sunday, sell on Monday aren�t applicable anymore. Advertising doesn�t have to be based in fact and most people don�t have the time or common sense to care any longer.
