Robert, Unfortunatly (through no fault of Talko - they do try to promote TKM in the north)TKM is not as popular in the north as in the south. Different engine formula tend to be more popular around the distributor's base - don't know why - it doesn't make sense! X30 maybe more popular around PFi as the cadet WTP formula was. TKM more popular around Sandy - Talko's base, of which Kimbolton is the nearest MSA circuit and grids are strong there. Also Wiltom Mill, Shennington have good TKM grids. So you'll have to travel a bit to get good TKM grids. Hooton park have a few TKM. Wombwell very occasionally do, when a few northern TKM get together and make a grid. If you want to look at trends, go on the different clubs websites and look back at the results - you'll see the grid sizes from there. If you go on TAG Heuer live timing - or 'results', there are a few clubs on there inc. Kimbolton - the TKM extreme are listed in the results. Due to the numbers and the length it has been running - Rotax is truly national so you will find it everywhere. I'm starting Rotax 177 at NON MSA at Fulbeck, I wouldn't and run something else like TKM if - firstly the grids were there and secondly the formula suited my weight. Don't forget to check how your driver weight fits in with whatever formula you do, unless your not an old fat lump like me!!!!
