I am writing in regard to the Scrutineering issue at the end of Super One Final 2 at Rowrah, which involved the winning Honda's engine builder. This incident has, for me highlighted the need for all engines that race under msa licence to be sealed.
At the moment there is very little punishment for an engine builder that cheats. All the MSA can do is deal with the driver and PG licence holder.
If the engines are sealed then the seal should be able to be traced and Johnny Engine builder can be dealt with.
Lets face it. How many people really race a stock engine or build and tune their own. Even those could get a sealing licence.
If we are worried about cost, prices for unsealed Iame's are now no different than a sealed Comer. In fact Honda cadet engines go for ridiculous money.
Any body that can go inside an engine and cheat should be accountable. Clearly if the allegations are correct he should be banned for at least a year but will probably carry on unpunished.
I cannot believe that this sort of thing can go on at national level.
