Shennington tried holding their AGM on a Saturday evening of a race weekends a lot of people stay at the track overnight.
They still had a very poor attendance from members. Many of the clubs are run by volunteers so there is limit to how much work they should have to do to force members to take an interest.
Agree with the idea of the BDKA representative being voted for by the members but someone has to get the BDKA fully up and running before that can happen.
Andrew has done a great job with the facebook page which now has about 1300 members. Back in January he posted a poll asking if there should be an elected BDKA representative. Membership was probably around 500 at the time but only 32 responded. All it needed was a click of the mouse to vote but still the majority did not bother/care.
