I believe the Leatt karting one is unique because it says "Kart" on the back! but god knows whats different, we use one for my 9 year old lad and it really does leave a lot of neck movement, the sponge ones really do limit neck movement, just put a wanted advert on the for-sale section and one will turn up, I paid 100 for ours, consider they are something like 250 new.
whats also good is if you get shunted from behind, it prevents whiplash, its hapened loads of times to us and we just carry on, other kids go home or to hospital due to whiplash
My lad rolled his cadet kart badly last year and his helmet was badly mashed into the track on the way over, he broke his right upper arm into 4 pieces requiring a 1 hour operation to re-set his arm, and needed 4 months off karting to repair, but to this day I am convinced the Leatt neck brace possibly prevented much more serious injuries.
