As with almost any race from your local club to S1, most front runners will buy a new set of slicks for each round and then use the o;lder set for practice. If you are not in that position then you could use a set of tyres for 2/3 rounds depending on the class. When my lad did easy cadet we used the same set of tyres for quite a while. I honestly can not remember how many rounds etc we did but at one meeting he was about a second off the pace in practice and I decided to splash out on new tyres and he was back on the pace but the old set had done the best part of 1000 laps of practice/race. As others have said, it is probably the friendliest series out there but if you want to race your kart outside of the series then you will have to do IKR - nothing wrong with that. I must get around to selling our junior kart - the engine still needs running in after a full service!
