Pooled engines - or any form of leveller system based upon a sensible budget would never be signed up by about 75% of the people and teams that run in national series as they buy their way to the front, everyone spends a load to get the best engine and ancillaries set ups over the others, then you race against similar front running kit. Why bother - why not run pooled engines and cut out all the off track cheque book competition!! Talent, kart set up and experience can still contribute to a win! Different situation but Club 100 and BUKC - excellent series where only the best drivers rise to the top, yes through the whole season you get the occasional bad luck in terms of kart or engine, but it tends to even out. The way Club 100 and BUKC in particular is run compared to this FKS debarcle; they are worlds apart. Ok the club 100 karts are a step down from full race karts, but the running and organisation is no different.
