alot of non msa meetings will allow 7 year olds to race cadet. I know Fullbeck have one every month. You can practice without a licence on practice days at pretty much any club just not allowed to race on the sunday. chassis wise i would get yourself a decent synergy, easy to setup and doesn't bend. buy a new iame from mills and you have a good base to start from...should do him until he is 8 or hopefully he gets bored and doesn;t want to kart anymore, keep your fingers crossed that he looses interest. if he does expect to spend alot of money you cannot really afford. My advice would be to not bother getting involved in cadet karting it won;t be an enjoyable pastime for you or your son. if he wants to cadet kart go to daytona or somewhere like that enter there league and go for a couple of hours every sunday that will be far more enjoyable and less consuming in time money and emotional baggage. once you get into cadet karting you will see poor driving standards that are not being dealt with and dads cheating to make there sons faster when it is obvious to all his driving ability isn't close to his pace. cadet karting is rotten to the core and spoilt by parents who want to live some driving career out through there kids. oh and ultimately he certainly wonnt make f1 and definately wont drive proffessionally unless you got a few millions to buy a seat somewhere.
