It's not that tony kart did something better, it's that they did something entirely against the spirit of the rules.
My understanding is that they combined a super flexible and thin nose, with minimal clearance (behind it) so that when impacted there is a good chance that it deforemed enough to make contact with the bars before the block "popped" back.
Yes, clever
But entirely designed to limit the effectiveness of the drop nose system.
Once this became apparent, it was obviously only a mater of time before the rule would be amended!
It is my understanding this isn't the recent news everyone thinks and that manufacturers were made aware some months ago.
I also think that the press release from Tal-Ko was in response to the release of the rule update and does not indicate that they initiated it.
Rather than point the finger at cik or msa, I'd be more pi**ed-off that tony kart (seemingly) knowingly let people buy new bars etc, probably even after that were made aware that there was a problem.
Also in making the nose so thin and flexible, people are finding they wear through and crease too easily and have to be replaced more frequently.
Personally, I think this issue is almost entirely of tony karts making and they should offer FOC replacement parts to sort it!
