It should always have had a Tilly carb anyway and at least you'll have an airbox you can choke, unlike the big end destroying water hoover.
It only had the Dellorto because it was on the moped, as was the airbox.
The radiator should have always been on the left but it made financial sense to JAG/Rotax to have it in the most vunerable possible position.
Whatever you do can only be an improvement.
Why on earth they faffed about with the Evo bits istead of pursuing what you intend to do is a mystery.
JAG/Rotax didn't even relent when the new bodywork made it difficult to get enough space between the side pod rails and the radiator.
Why not try a real exhaust while you're at it, then you can experiment with different flex lengths.
