I did think that and bled the system on site but no air came out however, as you have said, it could be trapped somewhere. I had to reverse bleed the system as it simply would not play ball when I tried it - I ended up filling up the M/C, filling up the pipe and then the caliper. Then I pushed fluid back up the system using a syringe and the air came out of the M/C. I even left it with the caliper hanging down and M/C up for a day or two just to see if I could get any more air out although at that time I had a great pedal. Even after I refitted the brake, every time I went in the garage, I tried the brake and it never changed - a lovely short throw and hard pedal. The problem only started when we ran it and then again, I kept asking my boy if it was OK which it was for a while. It was only after several 5 - 10 minute sessions that it went but then came straight back!
