What part of the country are you in?
Personally I'd be looking at something Rotax based with an Evo kit, as they are very close performance, with low running costs compared to X30 which need big rebuilds every 8 hours.
If you fancied something a bit "out there"......I liked the look of the F4S championship, which appears to be a nice clubby series for serious 4-stroke racers

Failing that, I went to the pro-kart series at Rye-house......dont knock it till you tried it, it was very competitive, if 160's are not for you, you could go 200's in the extreeme class which is more of a national series for peanuts engine costs and a great club racing atmosphere
