I get the impression the MSA were the "fall guy" for the down-fall of MSA racing at Rye, whereby for me, it was the utter arrogance of both the committee and circuit owners. Which was also mired with huge conflicts of interest of individuals running both the circuit, the club and a race team.......For me, with a heavy heart, as I really like the circuit, after my son rolled his kart on a rolling start around stadium, and I had previously been lobbying the committee to hold standing starts like the rest of the country at the time for safety reasons, both myself and many others left for many reasons other than the MSA, I really had no issue with the MSA at rye.
There is no such problem at Buckmore, no conflicts of interest, the circuit does not smash-up karts, the surface is in good condition, huge investment in safety precautions and foam barriers, the MSA scrutineers and officials have been fine for me. Now you can use the scales any time the doors are open....... unlike before!
Like I said above, I think the low numbers are more a reflection of the time of year with people still going on vacation outside of school holidays, than anything else.
The Bayford numbers seem really healthy.....why would that be different?
