The average uk male is 5'9" tall, and weighs 175lbs. The middle of the ideal weight range for a male of that height is 150lbs. In FTKM, you need to be around 175lbs to be on the limit without lead. Should weight limits be revised to make those of average height and ideal weight not have to pile masses of lead onto their karts? Should the FTKM weight limit be 25lbs lighter? This would aid health, by giving an incentive to drivers not to be overweight, would make it more practical for lighter drivers and females to race without having to have half a church roof bolted to their kart (making it impossible to self-start), and would boost numbers in the "Heavy" class, which if numerically stronger might attract many more people into the sport. I use the FTKM class as an example only because I'm familiar with the weights concerned but would suggest the same principles apply to Max & other classes.
