the data your using is pretty old considering we now use Kilos.
Seriously thou, I completed a survey of all karts/classes during a race meeting (club level) and we found that very few karts carried lead, yes there was a odd driver whom was not the norm, but most was a few kgs over the limit.
The main exceptions: Jnrs having not long moved upto snrs Cadets not long moved upto Jnrs
I dont think we can set weight limits to accomadate these people as it doesnt take long for them to grow into the class anyway, and provisions have now been set to allow them to stay in the younger formulas if needed anyway.
by the way a snr rotax max is about 85kg in race trim, the limit is 162 thats leaves 77kg for a driver, which isnt too generous when you consider this could be a fully grown man, plus they have to take into account race suit helmet etc....
the jnr limit is a difficult one to set as you need to accomadate young adults and children into one weight???
