While the thought is in my head...
I am hoping to get back in to racing this year, going in to TKM Seniors. Even having raced before (all be it 10 years ago), it's still quite a nervous thought of starting racing again.
Had a thought about some sort of 'mentor' system, where experienced drivers from the club can put their name down to be a mentor for a novice for a meeting. If paired with a willing novice they then offer them set-up advice, someone to chat to etc etc. In return the experienced club member gets a discount entry to their next meeting at the club, encouraging them to race again and also making it a much easier welcome to karting for the novice drivers when they need the helping hand and advice the most.
I am assuming this happens to one extent or other at the majority of clubs, maybe it's just me being shy that has made me think of this scheme. But thought I'd chuck it out there to give a novice's point of view.
