I moved to Nationwide with my mortgage, they asked if they could give me a quote for my house/contents insurance, I replied yes, but will you insure my kart against theft as then insurance provider (Direct Line) was a no. They took all the details, went to their underwriters and came back with a categoric yes - I forget the terminology they use but it is an 'item of value' (or something like that) and has a limit of �2000 which I am happy with. As mentioned, it is also insured when away from the house.
I am no expert but I did ask them on MANY occasions before and when I took the insurance out that my kart will be covered against theft, and their answer was always yes.
It costs nowt to ask for a quote, why don't you try them?
