OK , a couple of things first... How long is the threaded part of the stub ? How tall is the nylock nut you are using (nuts come in 2 heights N and P , N is thin P is fat) . With the wheel and spacers in place how far over the thread does the wheel bearing overhang the threaded part , you only need to cover the shaft and expose as much of the thread as possible . You may be loosing some of the thread by having the spacers sit too far over the end of the shaft itself and by using 2.5mm spacers ( yes they do exist as do 7.5mm , just hard to find )you may gain just enough thread to please the scruts , also you may find that you are using the fatter version nut wheras the thinner one may gain you some space as well . M10 come in 9.5mm and 11.5mm , M12 come in 12mm and 14mm ( N and P as stated above ) .
