Karts on eBay
I think that most karts on eBay are well and honestly described. If you are not sure about something you can ask a question of the seller and hopefully receive an honest reply.
Practicing at Blackbush a few weeks ago there were two young lads out in cadet karts that their parents had bought on eBay the week before. Both karts and drivers went well and a great time was had by all. From the brief conversation I had with both sets of parents it seems that this was their first involvement in karting (both for parent and child).
The reason for this posting is to warn prospective buyers to take GREAT CARE when starting the sport. A Cadet Kart has just been advertised on eBay this morning and part of the description reads: -
We are only selling this kart as my son wants to drive in the honda class instead. Kart has been ultra reliable, only run on castor oil, maintained at all cost (keen Dad). selling with NO RESERVE starting @ 1.00. i would like to get somewhere near 500.00 as a buy it now as i have this advertised elsewhere. this is nowhere near the cost we have put into this kart. It is ready to race & is a very quick little kart.
Take a look at auction No 230342458856 imagine how disappointed a young boy or girl would feel if their parent had bought this kart and taken it to their local track only to be told well actually the kart is not legal to race and I wonder would it be aloud out in practice with that rear bumper?
