I started karting racing again earlier this year after an absence of nearly 34yrs I'm now approaching my 50th. I purchased a good decent 2nd hand Rotax Snr Max Kart with the view of using it to have a bit of fun when my son was practicing at our local track. The first couple of times it felt a bit hairy but I soon got to grips with the speed of the kart. Just getting back on a kart was a fantastic awesome experience!!! Don't worry about the younger whippersnappers flying past you just get out there and enjoy yourself after all that's what it's all about. If you feel that you actually want to do a bit of racing, get some practice in and take your arks test at your local track to gain a competion race licence, which you will need if you intend to do MSA Racing!! On the other hand some kart clubs can offer non-MSA racing (example - Warden Law), whereby you don't need to have a competion race licence to race!
