As I said before, can only comment on what I've seen in S1 and it has improved. Stars is all anecdotal for me but sounds like they have some gremlins.
To be honest if you want a model for how to run a big event where everything happens on time to the split second with fuel tanks and tyres locked away overnight and proper live timing and video with drivers getting their equal share of interviews etc - then the Euro Max Series is second to none.
Ok they run it over 5 days which is a lot and can be expensive but it's 4 rounds and from the minute you register, pay, get the emails with the timetable, signing on to collect your passes, fuel and tyre tickets etc - it really does run like clockwork and the staff led by Lynn are incredibly friendly and helpful. I know some of the S1 guys went over in 2007 to see how they run it because I stood next to them at Salbris including Steve C wearing a very dodgy/new Sparco jacket (LOL). If Rod/Alan et al remember the time/place then they will vouch for that as I'm sure Steve will too!
Don't want to get into the logistics about whether S1 could/should run it like Euro Max including reducing the number of rounds but increasing the number of day per round but yes S1 has improved year on year and credit where credit is due and the Euro Series for us personally is the one to beat.
