We had bad tyres all weekend which has put pay to our championship assault.
New Parc Ferme tyres on Friday morning (kart and new tyre combination test). First session was fairly fast overtook our championship rival. Change a motor for 2nd session go out 6tenths off! (WHAT!) (Scratching of heads - two race engines there is a tenth inbetween them) and we had been testing for 3 days the week before with no problems.
Go back to other engine and .... 6 tenths off still!
Hmmm... Maybe it's kart - throw everything at it stubs, ride height, track rods.
Go out.... same time, and 6 tenths off..
Ollie says it's tyres: I fit a 200 Lap set from week before's testing and BANG; last session half a second quicker and back on the pace.
Still at least everybody will be in the same boat come race day... Errr wrong! The majority are, but a few get lucky with their set of slicks.
My first time in Parc Ferme this year. It's abit like a race as well... The queue for clutch inspection - let's just say I wouldn't want to be the last person through the gate but then somebody has to be I suppose.
Overall not good, please god we get decent tyres at Whilton and no water in the fuel...... and anything else that decides to creep in to mess up our weekend! Otherwise all our consistency and hard work will be worth zilch come the end of the year.
