I agree, no one likes being ripped off like this. It was more than reasonable to expect the cost of S1 for cadets to be less in 2010 than 2009 as fewer slicks would have to be bought. I assume that the reason to buy the 25 litres of fuel is because the fuel supplier has negotiated the contract on that basis to maximise their profit. So we end up with lots more fuel sloshing around the paddock and stupidly expensive fuel for the journey back home? This is nuts.
Oh and those people who say "you'll be there anyway" are wrong. We'll just do more club racing. As someone has already pointed out there there are always other S1 and FKS driver to race against at good club meetings. Beating some of these and winning some trophies gives just as many smiles as we would get from running in S1 anyway - and that's what it's all about.
