just to jump on the neck brace debate, yeh, there is no proof that a neck brace provides protection, also no proof to say they dont...
as a parent who has seen his 9 year old son hit a marshal post backwards and see his head being thrown back over the seat...(his kart was going flat out at the time of the impact...moved the marshal post 6inches with 2 men standing inside it). wee guy walked away from it, glad he had his neck brace on as i am convinced that it prevented the helmet moving back as far as it could have, but im not prepared to ask him to crash again without the neck brace to see what hurt more. I certainly feel cadet drivers should wear one...just my opinion.
i would love for the MSA/FIA to research the effectiveness of neck braces, they have enforced lighter weight helemts for jnr & cadet drivers, surely neck braces should be tested too.
