with a better insight to what happend to mike simpson at rowrah super 1, i have to say there is a problem here. Paul Klassen stripped mikes clutch after he quite honestly said it was slipping, paul found the clutch was bone dry and measured up to all tolerances perfect. He then proceeded to exclude mike from the meeting, which when it is quite obvious that nobody has a clue as to why the clutch slipped is a poor call. i initially thought that this was the only punishment for a slipping clutch only to find out that there is a less severe punishment of just excluded from the heat (depending on how the scrutaneer reports it). the explanation that people seem to think caused this slipping is that either a bit of dirt got in there or a peice of the bush,(11 tooth) either way i think everybody is forgetting that a change of the centre piece with a big hole in it(to stop the breaking ones) has taken place. its a fact that if you remove weight the centrifugal force will be less, however this is only my opinion, as i said before nobody knows why it slipped. the dissapointing fact here is that the msa, (paul klassen) jag, (jon gravitt) have let one of the biggest and best ambasadors for the rotax class servrely down, ( the same reason i walked away from tkm). they have allowed a faulty design or componnent to interfere with a championship, and at the level of investment for anybodys racing, this is totally unacceptable. i think this racing costs me between 2 and 3k per round and i seriously wouldnt like to think that six rounds into it this happens,,, i wonder what jon gravitt would say to me asking for my 18 grand back because the parts he supplied have ruined my championship?. if i was steve ogden or ronni sala (birel owner) i would be seriously annoyed,! steve cobb
