"But it needs to be a 'proper' british championship that travels around the whole country, something we don't have at the moment."
The official British championships run by FKS and S1 do move around the country. You have to bear in mind that fixing dates/venues is not always easy. Many tracks have limited operating days and need those for their own club championships. Other tracks just do not want the national/championship series at all because of the damage caused when they do visit e.g. toilets deliberately blocked. S1 run three series and then you have FKS, Easykart, Club 100, Junior Blue, LGM, NKRA and NATSKA (and maybe others) all tyring to book tracks between March and September. Very difficult for everyone to ensure the meetings are spread equally across the country.
"Problem is new classes are nearly always introduced by dealers to line their own pockets without worrying about the competitors"
The chassis and engine manufacturers are the most likely to in troduce a new class and I agree that they do so with a view to making a profit. However, they do have to care about the competitors because they are the customers. Very few people are forced into a new class and so the manufacturers/dealers have to convince us to join - otherwise the class will just fail.
