We've just purchased the Mytach GPS watch and used it a couple of times. I asked a few questions before hand on here and someone mentioned that this is an issue with both the GPS module and the Mytach, although the Mytach less so as it uses more satelites to get the fix.
Someone said it was something to do with the accuracy of the Google earth photo re the angle it was taken at and this causes the overlays to be out of sync with the track.
However, I have still found it very useful as you just have to visually compensate for how much it's out and I can still observe changes in lines from one session to the next.
The only way you can get a perfect lap map is with the g sensors and that adds another level of complexity and cost.
