I think most of us agree that it is far too early to properly judge the class. From what I have seen of the 'clubbies' at pf they look very nice running round, but then so do max to me! A kart is a kart, most people do it for the racing and I think there is alot to be said for rotax where you can go to any track in the country and race against (mostly) very competitive drivers in a decent size of grid. It sure has been marketed far more competently than DD2 was, to say it has a very similar target market and speed. One thing that concerns me though, is that as somebody mentioned above, "works" drivers have already been recruited into it. I would suggest that this is maybe what has made rotax what it is today? If it were left in the hand of the clubbie racer I dont think max would be quite as expensive as it currently is, so how does the structure of KGP prevent the same thing happening further down the line? You will still need to test lots, go through lots of tyres, put lots of time on engines, use chassis in good shape, and I think this is where most of the max costs go...not into the dreaded seal like most people seem to think.
