we don't race rotax so have no axe to grind here but I think the point that RocketMan46 is making is that if a team also has a sealing agency then that team has very little incremental cost if it decides to open the engine up and carry out whatever procedures it wants. They are already paying the engineers wages etc so they only have to pay any material/part costs over and above what they would pay if he was sitting there all day drinking tea. (There would, of course be the opportunity cost if he carried out team work at the expense of a paying customers work.) Therefore, the team has an advantage because they do not have to pay a full rebuild charge as a customer each time the engine is opened up. This would not matter if all teams were sealing agents but the first few posts seems to indicate that others have been refused. As I say, we don't use any of the rotax service providers but I can see the point he is making.
