Paul, I'm in exactly the same situation as you - although don't have a mortgage as yet so REALLY should be saving for one.
I'm 26 and race Easykart. Love it when i'm there, but the cost of racing and the niggling guilty feeling I get as I put tyres/parts on my credit card every month is sort of spoiling my enjoyment a bit.
Very nearly sold the kart last month and packed it in for a few years - but there's always that horrible youth/cost equation at the back of my mind.
Thinking about doing Club 100 as well, but I think after lovingly prepping my own kart every weekend and setting it up just to my liking, I would feel disappointed paying 170 for a few hours karting in C100. You don;t get that whole "race weekend" feel as well which I enjoy.
There are certainly some dismal weekends, where I've had a shunt, spent loads of money, not done well and think i'm more addicted to it than enjoying it.....
Decisions Decisions Decisions.
