I hear what your saying but I don't see why it needs to be governed or have anything like the ABKC. To give you an example at Hooton last year there was no minimum weight on the Juniors and Seniors. Well clearly this is a disadvantage to those on the heavy side so pretty much everyone wanted a minimum weight limit put in place, Bob listened to the voice of the majority and is now introducing minimum weight limits.
How many times have we seen the MSA come out with a new set of rules or a new class for everyone to be gobsmacked and can't understand the MSA's thinking?
At the end of the day the karters pay the money so they should dictate the rules not the other way around but with the MSA they don't seem to listen to the karters so I can't see what benefit having the ABKC or any other governing body is other than the safety aspect but even with that they are going too far (karts not being allowed to be ran on a stand? lol).
I think for IndiKart racing to work it needs to be left as it is with minimal interference. Generally common sense seems to work and because of this there appears to be a greater amount of respect between competitors.
