IndiKart is the name that Hooton came up with for their series and is the slang term being used for racing outside of the MSA. The term IndiKart cannot be mentioned in any other Non-MSA event by the event organisers.
The better term to use to discuss this type of racing is IKR (Independent Kart Racing), which was discussed at length on the other forum. IKR is ideal as nobody uses that name and the name explains exactly what this type of racing is.
Pete - Thanks for your post. If you put the racing on a separate weekend to Hooton then I will happily race at both Three Sisters and Hooton Park every month. I think a lot of the other racers will aswell.
If you put the racing on the same day as Hootons then nobody will gain anything. The karters lose out, you the businessman will not make as much money and Bob at Hooton will lose money.
Having it on separate weekends will be in the best interests of everyone involved as having two circuits available to race at on a regular basis for two championships is a big draw for karters and the numbers will grow at both tracks as a result. Basically both tracks will compliment each other and the numbers of karters racing IKR will grow from the current 100+ to more like 150+ at both tracks.
If you have another event already booked in a spot on the calendar then it's advisable that you communicate this with everyone and either run the race on the Saturday (don't make it Saturday all the time though) for that particular weekend or if that's not possible then you would be better to just not have the meeting for that month.
Please keep us updated to stop any rumours.
Chris.
