Many clubs struggle to get 1 MSA official to the track and the cost to the club can be very expensive as they are paying the officials expenses as well. So to try and get more there to observe poor driving is a non starter for most clubs.
The next problem is the appeal process awards the dad with the loudest voice and fatest wallet. I know of a dad who is always being called in due to his sons driving and yet he always gets the decision over turned, yet he's the most rude and obnoxious character.
Sadly we are in this position due to the MSA refusing to embrace technology. If everyone had to have a forward facing gopro, (most people have them already and they cost less than a set of tyres these days) it would be a clear cut decision. It wouldn't take longer as there wouldn't be a need of a conversation with the drivers and it takes minutes to stick an SD card in a laptop.
If a driver cannot produce a recording then you assume guilt and remove them from the meeting. That would shake it up, and it would stop the deliberate contact from starting in the first place.
