I have read the posts on this subject with interest. I was spectating at Pfi yesterday, we are yet to race this year. I agree that something needed to be done about driving standards but can't see that this is the answer. I felt for the poor lad who won junior max. Started at the front, led the whole race from the front and from what I saw had no contact except for the kerbs.
Picking up on an earlier post, it's bad enough finishing behind someone who dnf'd, in the x30 senior race some finished behind a driver who broke down on the warm up lap and didn't even start the race!
The danger is that this move will de-value the skill of karting, the winner won't be the best driver or with the fastest kart but will be the luckiest driver. In answer to the question posed in the thread, yes this could easily kill Msa racing for some, but for the rest we will learn to race within the rules and just have something else to moan about.
Whilst writing this a thought occurred to me, if we all pushed the noses in on the dummy grid. We Could just go back to racing!
