The new batch of engines from Zip are looking very good and could be a better buy than the `monster' engines. The top priced engines could be 2 or 3 10ths faster and over a 10 lap race that would be 2-3 seconds. Are they worth the money? If you have really consistent drivers like Roy Johnson, Brett Wykes etc then they probably would help your championship chances. If the driver tends to look behind, go off line, hesitate before overtaking and so on then they would not get the full benefit from these engines. I have seen drivers just off novice plates with very fast engines get into trouble trying to keep up with the more experienced drivers on lesser engines - fine in a straight line but do not have the same skills on corners and breaking. Throw in a few spots of rain and the engine advantage disappears rapidly.
