Hi Brian, glad you found my post informative, many karters dont fully appreciate the reasons for CIK and MSA homologation. One point I was making is, there are in fact very few useable 10 year old karts being scrapped when out of homologation. This is because a kart will be broken, tired and uncompetitive well before that time. Also not all classes require homologation and even then, as well as non MSA and fun kart use, there is historic racing if the kart is old enough.
Hi Gary, both of your chassis will be out of homologation come 2009. Do not panic about this, as it doesnt apply to you because none of the Rotax classes require homologation. The rule is Any chassis conforming to MSA Direct Drive Regulations. that your chassis should already comply with, so youll be fit to race.
