Formula Blue have been doing this for years, with Topweight, Masters (45+) and Veterans (50+) categories mixed into the one race.

You get your straight 'grid points' for the 'main championship' and your placing points for categories. (ie you might be 6th over the line, third Master Second Veteran and 1st Topweight. You gain 6 points for the 'open' race, 3 points for Master. 2 for veteran and 1 for Topweight.)

Some Blue drivers feel that they are intimidated by those young whippersnappers....except for the fact that NKRA numbers 2, 10, 15 17 and 19 are current masters or vetrans and that a couple of others (nos 4 and 5?) are getting close and would certainly be over the proposed 177 'Masters' category.
