It's a 'cost' thing!
And a 'why bother' thing?
You need the extended crank shaft half and the cluthc assembly. Neither of those are cheap! You will also be replacing the bearings, oil seals, etc.. You'd also be daft not to replace the piston and rings while it is in pices. So.... the costs mount up!
And they there's the starter.......
If you MUST use a clutch (and we'll cover THAT later), then you'd do better to SELL your current motor and by a replacement one that already HAS a clutch.
But........ why BOTHER? 95% of the rest of TKMs run WITHOUT one when they ALL have the choice. Why would you think that is? Becasue they don't NEED them! Do you have some special disability? If not, why......? Learn NOT to spin off! Learn to PUSH start it with minimal help! If you don't know how, post your email adress here and I'll send youa description of HOW to do it with the least possible effort and risk of injury! If Old Men like I can do it..... why can't you?
