Graham,
I asked for the meeting to consider 3 things;
1. Rotax Tyres, the harder Vega XLL.
2. Fixed gearing, which was an ABkC idea for 100 Nat some years ago.
3. Club rules for the extended use of tyres, for 2 or 3 meetings.
It would appear from what you say that buying a substitute tyre from the same manufacturer is a problem, why?
Vega themselves describe this tyre as; ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Structural innovation of the tested LL, it maintains unchanged the characteristics of long kilometrical distance and the extraordinary ratio of cheapness in comparison with the performances. Above all it is suitable for long lasting club races, for example 6/12 hours. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The key statement from the manufacturer being it maintains unchanged characteristics
Your statement I suspect the quality and consistency is far less than most would be prepared to accept would on the face of it seem questionable?
Did you discuss points 2 and 3 above?
Telling us all we getting a good deal already and that some Clubs are holding their prices was not quite what I had in mind when I said;
Cost cuts are vital to stop mast exits and encourage new karters into the sport
Lets hope I am wrong, and the ABkC have indeed got there eye on the ball.
