It is, but it was as a result of the disappointing number of entries last year and the small number (5) that turned up for the finals.
Like all these things, if people won't support the events, then the grids won't exist. One of the biggest problems is the number of people who wait till they see how many people are racing and then sign on.
The grids have a minimum size of 10 and the events need to be arranged a year in advance, so that clubs can agree to run the events. Clubs don't like running championship events and committing to a separate grid if the number that turn up wouldn't get a grid under their normal rules. The NKRA understandably don't like trying to run classes with undersize grids.
Both Comer drivers and Rotax 177 grids have people who say they would like to race in an NKRA championship, the problem is getting enough people to actually commit to doing so. If you really would like to race, then push the rest of the grid to vote for it and see your NKRA rep at the next meeting, (or use this forum or even e-mail Ron Shone at planetkarting).
