So many of you seem to be saying:-
"The rules MUST be applied, to the letter".
Fair enough!
Yet how MANY of you said the same thing when we were discussing putting wheels over Kerbs? How about if someone had complained that speedyman's son had gone over the kerbs REPEATEDLY (if he DID, of course!)? Would you STILL be saying:-
"The rules MUST be applied to the letter"
I am NOT wanting to re-open THAT debate again, merely pointing out that SOME of you are not being consistent, here! We either apply ALL the rules to the LETTER or we DON'T.
Make your minds up!
For me, the ONLY question here is 'Did the guy gain any SIGNIFICANT performnace or significantly reduce the safety?. If he did, speedy was right; if he didn't..... I am NOT so sure!
Super1 round, TKM Festival, etc.: apply the rules, HARD! At a 'clubbie' first meeting of the year.... be a BIT mor tolerant if it doesn't help HIM or risk ANYONE.
Please NOTE: I am NOT saying the protruding exhasut is SAFE! Nor do I want to RE-open the debate on Kerbs. The kerbs are just an EXAMPLE of where we do NOT all seem to saying: 'Apply the rules to the LETTER!
