I have run my new clutch for about three hours now. When I first took the drum off there was a thick rim of crud at the back of the drum which had to be scraped out and then brake cleaner to remove the residual.
The next time, there was more crud build up again. the actual surfaces were dry.
My old drums were the same, you got a build up in the drum in a similar place and no one was disqualified for that to the best of my knowledge.
It must be difficult for the scrutineer but it does seem a bit inconsistent when you read how many and how often they were checked.
Has anyone tried some of the dry lubes on the bearing to see if that lasts and still protects the bearing.
Also, if the grease is coming out of the bearing, do we need to lube them more often, I dont want to risk a bearing welding itself onto the crank.
Dear Mr Jag, HELP!!!!!
