How easily you forget the things that Rotax have done to you.
Don't think for a moment that ANY of the things that have come out of the Rotax factory have been or are for the benefit of YOU, Charlie Hummingtop.
The new clutch is cheaper to produce, why? Old clutch. 3 circlips 3 washers or 1 spider 3 Rowntrees Aero clutch shoes 3 friction linings 3 springs 3 dollops of adhesive 1 clutch cover a total of 19 parts.
New clutch. 1 clutch shoe 1 cover 3 Allen bolts a total of just 5 parts.
A saving of 11 items!!!
I've got three O levels, English and Maths and even I can work that out! :)
OK, I'll play your silly guessing game, who's benefit was it for then?
The CNC machined barrel, 'Oh, we are making it so that the engines are more consistent for everyone'. Like Dolly they are!
The new process is cheaper and more efficient than casting, that's all.
The fact that they are now puttting the willies up everyone by 'leaking' that they are better, is a marketing ploy and you are all being led by the nose like ringed pigs.
The next move will be that you can't use the old clutches and everyone will be required to change to the new barrel.
Why our supposed governing bodies allow all this complete b*110x to happen is because there is vested interest involved.
Having got my hands on a piece of official paper that did in fact state that it would be better for Rotax if it had no seal, you can bet your virginity that that will be shelved just like the everlasting light bulb and the lotion that stops you needing to shave for a week.(Have you ever used ladies hair remover on your face, you end up looking like Father Jack Hackett).
In a climate where we are all trying to save karters money, along comes Rotax and buggers it all up, WELL DONE, and you have been!!
19.95 for a single old style clutch shoe?
I suspect that Rotax's CEO is Bernard Madoff.
It's a pity that Tal-ko never got their TAG off the ground, it may have been a competitor but I fear they left it far far too late.
