I went on my second kart outing at Forest Edge on Saturday (Rotax max 177 preARKS) but had problems restarting my kart whenever it stalled in a spin. It was my first time out in the rain so there was a fair bit of spinning involved. However, every time I span, the kart wouldn't start again - more so than it just going temporarily lean in the spin. It would start again after a minute or so with some hectic choking but would only go a couple of feet before dying again. This was a problem all day - even when it got sunnier. One of the marshalls gave me a bump start which eventually worked after about 25 meters of pushing. As the day went on and I got some quicker laps in, the problem seemed to get a bit better but was still there. It wouldn't stall on every spin but was dodgy restarting if it did. The jetting, idle screw, needle setting, fuel filter all seemed to be fine - the plug was a little wet but not dirty.
ANy ideas? It's a small problem but it makes me not want to push the kart for fear of a spin and an embarassing trolley rescue.
Also - in some corners, the power seemed to kick in so nicely on the exit that a smile spread across my face but, on taking the same corner again on another lap, the kart really seemed to struggle and was virtually crawling to death's door coming out of the slower chicanes.
Again, I seemed to be on a smiliar jet setting to everyone else and the carb was clean.
Any ideas what's causing this? I want more smiley face moments.
